How Vehicles Can Leave the Road and Strike Homes
Crashes involving vehicles hitting homes often happen when a driver loses control or leaves the roadway. This can occur due to distraction, speed, or possible impairment. When a vehicle departs the road, it may travel onto nearby property and strike structures.
The severity of these incidents depends on factors such as speed, distance traveled, and the type of building affected. People inside homes may be at risk, especially if the crash happens during early morning or nighttime hours. Barriers, setbacks, and road design can sometimes reduce the likelihood that vehicles reach residential areas.
