Why Rollover Crashes Can Require Extended Road Closures
Rollover crashes often involve vehicles that are flipped onto their sides or roofs, which can block multiple lanes and create hazards for other drivers. Emergency crews may need additional time to safely remove vehicles, assist injured parties, and secure debris.
These crashes can occur due to sudden maneuvers, speed, or loss of control. Vehicles with a higher center of gravity, such as SUVs or trucks, are particularly prone to rolling in certain situations. Even when injuries are not immediately clear, responders treat the scene with extra caution to prevent further incidents.
