How Pedestrian Crashes Involving Children Occur
Roads near Highway 64 and Izard Street can see a mix of local and through traffic. When injury crashes happen in Omaha, responders often work to manage traffic while assisting those involved.
Children may be harder for drivers to see, especially at night or in areas with limited lighting. Their movements can also be less predictable, which can increase the risk of a crash when crossing the street.
Factors such as speed, visibility, and crossing location can all influence how these incidents occur. Areas without marked crossings or with steady traffic flow may present added challenges for both drivers and pedestrians.
