What Factors Can Affect Safety During ATV Rides?
ATV riding can involve several risks, especially on uneven or mountainous terrain. Slopes, loose gravel, and sharp turns can make it harder to maintain control, even for experienced riders. Rollovers are among the most common types of ATV accidents in these environments.
Protective gear, such as helmets and pads, may reduce the severity of injuries but cannot prevent every outcome. The vehicle’s size and power, along with the number of riders, can also affect stability. Many ATVs are designed for one person, and carrying passengers may increase the risk of losing control.
Weather and ground conditions can further affect traction and visibility. Riders are often encouraged to stay alert and adjust their speed based on the terrain they are navigating.
