Understanding Head-On Collisions and Their Dangers
Head-on collisions are among the most severe types of traffic accidents. When two vehicles collide head-on, the combined speed of both vehicles multiplies the impact force, increasing the likelihood of fatal or severe injuries.
Even with seatbelts, the sudden deceleration and direct impact can cause life-threatening trauma to the head, chest, and internal organs. Vehicle size and weight differences also influence injury outcomes; smaller vehicles often sustain more damage and place occupants at higher risk.
Preventive measures such as staying within lane boundaries, avoiding distractions, and following speed limits are critical for reducing the risk of head-on crashes on highways.
