Understanding Pedestrian Accidents Involving Teens
Pedestrian crashes involving teens often occur near schools, busy streets, or during lunchtime and after-school hours. Teens may misjudge traffic speed or cross outside designated crosswalks, increasing their risk of being struck.
Vehicle speed and driver attention are major factors in the severity of injuries. Even when drivers remain on scene and cooperate, high-speed or unprotected impacts can lead to critical injuries. Safety measures like crosswalks, signals, and pedestrian awareness can reduce, but not eliminate, these types of accidents.
