What Can Lead to Intersection Crashes Like This?
Crashes at intersections often happen when drivers fail to follow traffic signals or misjudge oncoming traffic. Running a red light is one of the more common causes, especially during busy travel times when drivers may feel rushed. Left-turn movements can also increase risk, as drivers must cross lanes of traffic and rely on clear signals and timing.
Visibility, speed, and driver attention all affect how safely an intersection is used. Even a short delay in reaction time can lead to a crash when vehicles enter from different directions at once. Traffic signals, road markings, and turning lanes are designed to guide drivers, but they depend on full compliance to work properly. When one driver does not follow the rules, it can quickly create a dangerous situation for others in the intersection.
