Why Bicyclist Accidents Can Be Fatal
Bicyclists are particularly vulnerable on roadways because they have little protection compared to vehicle occupants. Collisions with cars, especially at night or in low-visibility conditions, can result in severe or fatal injuries.
High-speed roads, multiple vehicles, and distracted driving increase the risk. Hit-and-run crashes pose additional dangers, delaying medical care and complicating investigations. Wearing reflective clothing, using lights, and following traffic laws are important safety measures, but accidents can still occur when drivers fail to see or yield to cyclists.
