Understanding Multi-Vehicle Crashes on Highways
Highway collisions often involve high speeds, which can increase the severity of injuries and make extrication necessary. When victims are trapped in vehicles, emergency responders work quickly to stabilize patients and safely remove them.
Air medical transport is often used when injuries are severe or when traffic delays would slow hospital access. Investigators review vehicle positions, witness statements, and roadway conditions to determine how crashes occurred. Even experienced drivers can be at risk on highways, highlighting the importance of caution and safe following distances.
