Everett, WA (April 12, 2026) – Two people were killed Sunday morning, April 12, in a residential house fire in north Everett.
Emergency units were dispatched around 8:00 a.m. after multiple callers reported smoke coming from a home in the 3800 block of Wetmore Avenue in the Port Gardner neighborhood. Fire crews arrived shortly after dispatch and found an active fire inside the residence.
Firefighters entered the home to begin suppression efforts and search for occupants. During the search, crews located a man and a woman believed to be in their 70s. Emergency medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Crews brought the fire under control within approximately 20 minutes. No additional injuries were reported among responding personnel. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
