Seffner, FL (April 13, 2026) – New details have been released following a deadly crash in Seffner that claimed the life of a teenage driver. On Monday, April 13, officials identified the victim as 17-year-old Elijah Battiste, a student at Armwood High School, who was involved in a crash Saturday night, April 11.
According to updated information, the crash occurred along State Road 574 near Chastain Road. A Nissan Versa driven by a 40-year-old man was traveling eastbound when it collided nearly head-on with Battiste’s Volkswagen Passat, which was heading westbound.
After the initial impact, both vehicles came to rest in the roadway and were then struck by a third vehicle, a Ford F-150. The driver of the Ford fled the scene on foot and has not yet been located.
Battiste and the other driver were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Authorities later confirmed that Battiste died from those injuries.
