Seffner, FL (April 13, 2026) – New details have been released following a deadly crash in Seffner that claimed the life of a teenage driver. On Monday, April 13, officials identified the victim as 17-year-old Elijah Battiste, a student at Armwood High School, who was involved in a crash Saturday night, April 11.

According to updated information, the crash occurred along State Road 574 near Chastain Road. A Nissan Versa driven by a 40-year-old man was traveling eastbound when it collided nearly head-on with Battiste’s Volkswagen Passat, which was heading westbound.

After the initial impact, both vehicles came to rest in the roadway and were then struck by a third vehicle, a Ford F-150. The driver of the Ford fled the scene on foot and has not yet been located.

Battiste and the other driver were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Authorities later confirmed that Battiste died from those injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, and additional details may become available as authorities continue their review. We extend our sincere condolences to the victim’s loved ones and wish the injured driver a full recovery.
