How Red-Light Violations Can Lead to Serious Intersection Crashes
Running a red light can create dangerous conflicts at intersections where vehicles are crossing in different directions. Even a brief delay in stopping can result in a direct side-impact collision.
Left-turning vehicles are often at risk when oncoming traffic does not yield or obey signals. These crashes can occur quickly, leaving little time for drivers to react or avoid impact.
Intersections with multiple lanes and traffic signals require constant attention from all drivers. Visibility, speed, and reaction time all play a role in preventing serious collisions.
