Livingston Parish, LA (April 29, 2026) – A bicyclist died early Tuesday morning after a crash involving a vehicle on James Chapel Road North near Gordon Lane. Emergency units responded to the area around 4:00 a.m. following reports of a collision involving a bicycle and another vehicle.
Deputies later identified the bicyclist as 46-year-old Eric Hano of the Springfield area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said Hano was riding a pastel yellow Peria bicycle at the time of the crash. He was not carrying identification or a phone when the incident occurred. His family has since been notified.
The driver involved in the crash has not been publicly identified, and additional details about the vehicle have not been released. The roadway was temporarily impacted while emergency personnel worked at the scene and gathered evidence.
The investigation remains ongoing.
