Police stated the person was then hit a second time by another vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the roadway. Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Why Walking Along High-Speed Frontage Roads Can Be Dangerous
Frontage roads beside major highways often carry fast-moving traffic and may have limited space for pedestrians. Drivers traveling at higher speeds can have less time to react when a person is walking in an active lane, especially at night.
Pedestrian crashes on frontage roads are often severe because vehicles may be moving continuously, with few stops or signals. Visibility, roadway lighting, traffic flow, and driver reaction time are commonly reviewed after such collisions. Nighttime conditions can further reduce visibility for both pedestrians and motorists, increasing the risk of a serious roadway crash involving multiple vehicles.
