How House Fires Can Create Roadway Hazards
Structure fires near roadways can affect traffic due to emergency response activity, smoke, equipment, and temporary closures. Fire crews may need additional space to operate safely while working near active roads.
Reviews of fire incidents may consider the condition of the structure, possible sources of ignition, and other information from the scene. Factors such as weather, building materials, and response conditions can also affect how a fire develops and how crews manage the situation.
