Boone County, MO (August 25, 2026) – One driver suffered minor injuries on Sunday afternoon, August 23, after a two-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 70 east of Exit 121. The collision occurred at approximately 3:55 p.m.
According to the crash report, a 2024 Kenworth T680 and a 2022 Honda Civic were both traveling west when the Kenworth crossed the center line for an unknown reason and struck the Honda.
The impact forced the Honda off the right side of the roadway, where it entered a ditch and overturned. The 50-year-old Honda driver suffered minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
The Honda was totaled, while the Kenworth sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
Authorities continue reviewing the cause of the crash. We hope the injured driver has a swift and full recovery.
Why Can Ditch and Rollover Crashes Cause Additional Injuries?
When a vehicle is pushed off the roadway, uneven ground or a roadside ditch can cause it to rotate or overturn. That movement can expose occupants to several forces after the original impact.
