Albuquerque, NM (January 23, 2026) – Emergency crews were dispatched early on Friday morning to a traffic incident with reported injuries on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the Big I interchange in Albuquerque. The call was received around 5:57 a.m. and prompted a 29 Bravo 1 response from Engine 4 and Rescue 4.
The crash occurred near a McDonald’s restaurant adjacent to the interchange. However, by the time emergency units arrived, the injured party had reportedly left the scene. As a result, responding units were canceled shortly after arrival.
It remains unclear how the crash occurred or whether the individual who left the scene later sought medical attention. The situation is under review by local authorities.
