Altamonte Springs, FL (January 8, 2026) – A young boy was seriously injured Wednesday evening when the dirt bike he was riding collided with a car in Altamonte Springs, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash occurred just after 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of South Ronald Reagan Blvd and Florence Ave in Seminole County.
Troopers say the 8-year-old was riding a 2023 Yamaha dirt bike along Ronald Reagan Blvd when he lost control and veered into the path of a Toyota Avalon. The left side of the dirt bike struck the front of the car, ejecting the boy from the bike. He then struck the vehicle a second time before coming to rest on the roadway.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and provided medical care to the injured child. He was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital with serious injuries. No additional information has been released regarding his current condition.
The adult driver and passenger in the Toyota Avalon were not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with law enforcement. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the young boy and his family during this difficult time, and we wish him a full and swift recovery.
