Aurora, CO (January 5, 2026) – A civilian was hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash involving a South Metro Fire Rescue ambulance near the intersection of South Havana St and East Jewell Ave. The crash occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. on January 5 and led to significant traffic disruption in west Aurora.
According to Aurora Police, the collision began when a driver ran a red light at the intersection, striking another vehicle. The impact caused one of the vehicles to collide with a South Metro Fire Rescue ambulance that was returning to its station and was not carrying a patient at the time.
South Metro Fire officials initially reported that two people were transported to the hospital. However, Aurora Police later confirmed that only one civilian was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No firefighters were hurt in the incident.
