Baker, CA (January 9, 2026) – A serious two-vehicle collision involving a vehicle fire and an overturned truck left at least one person injured Wednesday morning on Interstate 15 near Halloran Springs Rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. on January 7. Preliminary findings indicate that a white Honda CRV, traveling northbound on I-15, suddenly veered across the center median and into southbound lanes for reasons still under investigation. The out-of-control vehicle then collided with a white pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction.
The impact forced both vehicles off the roadway. The pickup overturned upon leaving the freeway, while the Honda reportedly caught fire following the collision. Emergency personnel from CHP and the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded swiftly to contain the blaze and provide aid to the occupants.
At least one individual was transported by medical personnel to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada for further treatment. Details regarding the severity of injuries and whether additional people were hurt have not been released at this time.
Authorities have not yet determined what caused the Honda to cross into oncoming lanes, and an investigation remains ongoing.
We extend our best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to all those affected by this crash.
