Why Stop Sign Violations Can Lead to Severe Crashes
Crashes at intersections often happen when one vehicle fails to yield the right of way. Stop signs are designed to control traffic flow, but if a driver does not stop, cross traffic may not have enough time to react.
Highway intersections can be especially dangerous because vehicles on the main road are traveling at higher speeds. This increases the force of impact when two vehicles collide, and it can lead to more serious injuries.
Passenger safety can also be affected by whether seat belts are used. In collisions, seat belts help keep occupants in place and reduce the risk of severe harm during sudden impacts.
