What Is Typically Reviewed After a Bicycle and Commercial Truck Crash?
Investigators reviewing crashes involving bicycles and commercial trucks typically examine traffic signal timing, right-of-way, and the movements of both the cyclist and the truck before the collision. They also assess roadway design, visibility, and the location of bike paths or crosswalks to better understand how the crash occurred.
Physical evidence, such as tire marks, vehicle damage, and the point of impact, helps reconstruct the sequence of events. Witness statements and any available traffic camera footage may also provide additional context. These findings help investigators determine the factors that contributed to the collision.
