Long Beach, CA (July 9, 2026) – A bicyclist in his 50s was killed in a hit-and-run collision on Monday, July 6, near Cowles St and Santa Fe Ave in Long Beach, California. The accident was reported shortly after 2:30 a.m.
The bicyclist was found unresponsive in the roadway and was pronounced dead. A preliminary review indicated he was traveling westbound on Cowles St when an unknown vehicle struck him after turning onto the street from Santa Fe Ave.
The driver left the area before officers arrived. The bicyclist’s name has not been released pending identification by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. The search for more details about the driver and vehicle continues as the investigation remains ongoing.
