Running Springs, CA (August 4, 2026) – A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on State Route 18 near Kuffel Canyon Road in Running Springs on Sunday, August 2.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported shortly before 8:55 a.m. Initial dispatch information indicated a red sedan struck a bicyclist on westbound SR-18 east of Kuffel Canyon Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene, where the collision temporarily blocked access to Kuffel Canyon Road while responders assisted the injured cyclist and managed the scene. A tow truck was later requested to remove the damaged vehicle.
The extent of the bicyclist’s injuries has not been released, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. We are thinking of the injured bicyclist and wish them a full recovery.
