Grayson Valley, AL (June 27, 2026) – A bicyclist was struck and killed at the intersection of Chalkville Road and Grayson Valley Parkway in Jefferson County.

Emergency units responded to the scene at approximately 12:39 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, following reports of a bicycle accident. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, a 31-year-old bicyclist, Brian Austin White, of Enterprise, was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle; he was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment, but later died from the injuries he sustained in the crash.

Officials said the driver remained at the scene and contacted authorities to report the collision. The police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as they become available.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

Why Bicycle Crashes Can Result in Severe Injuries

Bicyclists are especially vulnerable in traffic because they have little physical protection during a collision with a motor vehicle. Even at moderate speeds, the force of impact can result in life-threatening injuries, making prompt emergency medical care critical.

Investigators reviewing bicycle crashes examine roadway conditions, lighting, visibility, vehicle movement, and the location of the cyclist before the collision. They may also consider traffic patterns and available witness or camera evidence to better understand the sequence of events. These details help provide a clearer picture of how the crash occurred.
