What Happens When a Vehicle Leaves the Roadway in a Crash
When a vehicle leaves the roadway during a collision, the outcome often depends on terrain and speed at the moment of impact. Vehicles that enter wooded or uneven areas may experience additional damage beyond the initial crash.
Entrapment can occur when parts of the vehicle frame are compressed, making it difficult for occupants to exit without assistance. In such cases, specialized rescue tools are often used to safely remove trapped individuals.
Medical evaluation is typically required for all occupants, even when injuries appear minor. Off-road crashes can result in hidden injuries due to sudden deceleration or impact forces.
