Brighton, WI (January 24, 2026) – A devastating three-vehicle crash occurred on January 22 in the 2400 block of County Trunk Hwy BD in the Town of Brighton, resulting in one fatality and injuries to two others.
Kansasville Fire & Rescue Department (KFRD) responded to the scene just after 4:00 p.m. along with multiple units from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office. The crash involved a head-on collision, with extensive vehicle damage, airbag deployment, and reports of driver entrapment. Paramedics from KFRD worked urgently to triage the scene, stabilize the injured, and manage the extrication process.
Due to the severity of the incident, mutual aid was requested from the Paris and Salem Lakes Fire Departments. Additional ambulances and engine companies joined the response to assist with both extrication and medical treatment. A Flight for Life helicopter was also dispatched to transport one of the seriously injured drivers.
One driver was transported by ground ambulance to a local Kenosha hospital, while another was airlifted to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa with critical injuries. Tragically, the third driver succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
County Highway BD was shut down between 18th St and CTH JB/31st St while emergency crews worked the scene and investigators began reconstructing the crash. Kenosha County’s Multi-Jurisdictional Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) is handling the ongoing investigation.
