What to Do If You Witness a Hit-and-Run Crash in Connecticut
Hit-and-run crashes in Connecticut are investigated as serious criminal offenses, particularly when a victim sustains significant injuries. Witnesses who see a crash and the subsequent flight of a vehicle play a critical role in helping investigators piece together what happened, even when details are limited.
If you witness a hit-and-run, try to note as many details about the fleeing vehicle as possible, color, make, model, and any portion of the license plate number. Even a partial plate or a general description of the vehicle’s direction of travel can give investigators a meaningful lead to follow.
Connecticut law requires drivers involved in any crash to stop and provide their information. Leaving the scene of an injury accident is a felony offense that carries serious criminal penalties. Anyone with information about the Bristol crash is asked to contact authorities at 860-584-3021.
