Campo, CA (January 4, 2026) – An accident involving two vehicles left at least one person injured in the Campo area of San Diego County. The crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. along Old Highway 80 near Golden Acorn Way, just south of the truck entrance.
Responding units from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), along with fire and medical personnel, arrived at the scene to assist those involved. A black Kia Optima and another unidentified vehicle were found at the site, with one vehicle reportedly ending up in a ditch following what was described as a head-on collision.
Paramedics treated two individuals, one of whom sustained mild injuries and received care at the scene, while the other declined medical attention. The full extent of the injuries has not been released.
CHP coordinated towing operations, and Clancy’s Tow arrived with two trucks to remove the vehicles from the scene. Traffic was likely impacted during the emergency response and clearing of the roadway.
Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the crash, and the incident remains under active investigation. Additional details about the parties involved have not yet been made public.
