Why Serious Intersection Crashes Can Lead to Severe Injuries
Intersections like The Plaza and Hamorton Place often bring together vehicles traveling from different directions. When drivers approach at varying speeds or attempt turns across traffic, the chance of a severe collision can increase.
Urban intersections may also involve several factors at once, including traffic signals, turning lanes, and nearby pedestrian areas. Quick decisions by drivers, sudden stops, or misjudging the speed of oncoming vehicles can lead to powerful impacts.
Crashes at intersections often produce severe injuries because vehicles may strike the side of another car where there is less protection. The angle of impact and the speed of the vehicles involved can strongly influence how serious the outcome becomes.
