Chicago, IL (January 15, 2026) – One person was tragically pronounced dead at the scene following a crash on the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway near 45th St late Wednesday morning, according to early dispatch audio and local response reports.
Emergency units, including Engine 8 and Truck 4, were sent to the scene shortly before noon to respond to the accident along the expressway. Upon arrival, responders determined that one individual was deceased. Ambulance services were subsequently held back as fire personnel began documentation procedures at the site.
