Chicago, IL (January 9, 2026) – A traffic accident involving injuries led to major disruptions early Thursday near the intersection of S Indiana Ave and E Pershing Rd in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 7:30 a.m., where a vehicle was reported disabled in the middle of the intersection.
Chicago Fire Department units responded alongside police officers to provide medical assistance and manage the traffic situation. At least one individual was injured in the collision and treated on-site. The extent of the injuries has not yet been disclosed.
