Dallas, TX (August 12, 2026) – A child was critically injured after a man fleeing from a disturbance call crashed into three vehicles at North Masters Drive and Elam Road on Tuesday evening, August 11, according to Dallas police. Officers responded to the area around 4:43 p.m. after 54-year-old Ronnie Alcaraz allegedly assaulted a woman and took her phone as she tried to call police, then sped off before crashing nearby.
The child, riding in one of the struck vehicles, was ejected in the crash and taken to a hospital in critical condition. Officers arrested Alcaraz at the scene, where he also had outstanding warrants.
Alcaraz was charged with evading arrest, causing serious bodily injury, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and interference with an emergency call. We hope the child has a full recovery.
