What Is Commonly Reviewed in Intersection Crashes Involving Emergency Vehicles?
Intersection crashes involving emergency vehicles are often analyzed by reviewing signal timing, right-of-way rules, and the movement of all vehicles approaching the intersection. Investigators typically examine whether warning signals were active and how other drivers responded to the approaching emergency vehicle.
Visibility, traffic density, and driver reaction times are also key factors. These details help establish whether each driver had adequate time and space to safely navigate the intersection.
Vehicle damage patterns and final positions are used to reconstruct how the collision occurred. In cases involving injuries, medical evaluations also help clarify the severity and progression of harm among those involved.
