Hudson, FL (July 10, 2026) – Two children were involved in a DUI-related collision after a woman allegedly struck a chiropractic building and a patrol vehicle while fleeing a traffic stop in Hudson early on Wednesday morning, July 8.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident began shortly before 3 a.m. when a deputy saw a Kia sedan run a stop sign and travel northbound on US-19 at a high rate of speed. Investigators said the driver, identified as 32-year-old Kari Roumeliotis, later stopped near Sea Breeze Drive but drove away as the deputy approached.
The vehicle entered the parking lot of Hudson Chiropractic and Rehabilitation on Old Dixie Highway, where it struck the outside of the building. Troopers said Roumeliotis then reversed and hit the front of the deputy’s patrol SUV. The sedan had three passengers, including Roumeliotis’ 9-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter. The children were released to their father’s custody after the arrest.
Investigators said Roumeliotis showed signs of impairment and later recorded breath test results of 0.134 and 0.140 BrAC, according to the arrest report. She was arrested on multiple DUI-related charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
