Cincinnati, OH (May 17, 2026) – A 46-year-old man was killed on Saturday night, May 16, after a hit-and-run crash on Guerley Road in the West Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati.

According to Cincinnati police, officers responded to the 4700 block of Guerley Road around 10:12 p.m. following reports of a fatal traffic collision. Investigators said the man was loading a utility trailer when he was struck by a white van.

Authorities stated the van fled the scene immediately after the impact. Emergency units attempted life-saving measures, but the victim died from his injuries.

Police have not identified the driver involved and said additional details about the van were not immediately available. Investigators continue working to gather information related to the fatal collision.

The crash remains under investigation as authorities search for the driver involved.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.

How Hit-and-Run Fatal Crashes Are Reviewed

Hit-and-run investigations often focus on identifying the fleeing vehicle through witness accounts and physical evidence left behind at the scene. Investigators may examine paint transfer, broken vehicle parts, or tire marks to help determine the type of vehicle involved.

In nighttime crashes, lighting conditions and roadway visibility are also commonly reviewed. Surveillance cameras from nearby homes or businesses can sometimes provide useful footage of the vehicle before or after the collision.

When a pedestrian is outside a stopped vehicle or trailer, investigators may also analyze vehicle positioning and lane space to better understand how the impact occurred. These details help reconstruct the sequence of events surrounding the crash.
