What Factors Can Contribute to Severe Single-Vehicle Crashes
Single-vehicle crashes can become deadly when a vehicle leaves the roadway or loses control. Speed, road conditions, and driver reaction time are often key factors in how these incidents unfold.
Nighttime driving can also increase risk due to reduced visibility and slower response to hazards. Curves, narrow roads, and limited lighting can make it harder to stay safely within the travel lane.
When multiple passengers are involved, injuries can vary widely depending on seat position and whether occupants are restrained. In severe crashes, the force of impact can affect everyone inside the vehicle differently.
