What Happens During a Post-Crash Traffic Investigation?
After a vehicle collision, investigators typically document the scene, including vehicle positions, roadway conditions, and any traffic control devices nearby. They also assess physical evidence such as skid marks, debris patterns, and vehicle damage to help reconstruct how the crash occurred.
Medical updates from hospitals can later help clarify the severity of injuries. In some cases, investigators may also consider traffic flow changes, nearby road closures, and congestion patterns that could have contributed to driver decisions. All collected information helps build a clearer understanding of the events leading up to the crash.
