St. Louis, MO (July 4, 2026) – According to officials, several people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Thursday night, July 2, on southbound Interstate 270 just north of MO-115 in St. Louis.
Emergency units responded to the scene at about 8:40 p.m. The incident report stated that a 2014 Volkswagen CC made an unsafe lane change and struck a 2016 Toyota Camry. The Volkswagen then continued southbound and struck a 2014 Mazda CX-9 before crossing all lanes and hitting a concrete median.
Three people were transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital with injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen, a 24-year-old man, suffered serious injuries. A 77-year-old female driver of the Mazda CX-9 also sustained serious injuries, while a 78-year-old male passenger in the same vehicle was listed with moderate injuries. The driver of the Camry was not reported to have been seriously injured.
Authorities confirmed all three vehicles were either towed or removed from the scene. The crash involved lane closures while crews worked to clear the roadway. The incident is actively being investigated.
