Bates County, MO (July 4, 2026) – Two drivers were seriously injured and transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash on MO-18 west of Route KK in Bates County.
Emergency units responded to the scene at about 8:25 p.m. on Thursday, July 2. Deputies reported that a 2019 Jeep Renegade was traveling westbound when it crossed the center line and side-swiped a 2007 Chevrolet truck traveling eastbound. Both vehicles then left the roadway following the impact.
The 65-year-old female driver of the Jeep and the 72-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet were both reported to have sustained serious injuries. Both drivers were airlifted to Research Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities confirmed both vehicles were heavily damaged and towed from the scene. No additional details about contributing factors have been released.
