What Is Known About Motorcycle Crashes at Intersections in Colorado Springs
Intersections are common sites of motorcycle crashes, especially when a vehicle is making a left turn across traffic. These situations often leave little time for riders to react, particularly when visibility is limited or timing is misjudged.
In areas like Colorado Springs, traffic on major roads like Union Boulevard can increase the likelihood of these types of collisions. Motorcycles are smaller and may be harder to spot, which can contribute to crashes during turning movements.
Speed can also affect how quickly a situation develops. Higher speeds reduce reaction time and can increase the severity of impact. Drivers are encouraged to check carefully for oncoming traffic and allow enough space before turning, especially at busy intersections.
