What Are Common Risks When Riding Electric Scooters at Intersections?
Electric scooters are increasingly used for short trips, especially in urban and residential areas. While they offer convenience, intersections can present serious risks for riders. Many crashes happen when riders fail to follow traffic signs or misjudge the speed of oncoming vehicles.
Scooters are smaller and less visible than cars, which can make it harder for drivers to react in time. Riding with more than one person on a scooter can also affect balance and control, especially when entering busy crossings.
Wearing protective gear and following traffic rules can help reduce the risk of injury. Paying close attention to stop signs and checking for traffic before entering an intersection can also improve safety for scooter riders.
