What Factors Are Reviewed After an Intersection Crash?
After a serious intersection crash, early reports usually focus on the direction and movement of each vehicle involved. This helps establish how the collision may have occurred, especially when multiple lanes or crossing traffic are present.
Investigators often look at traffic flow patterns, signal timing, and right-of-way rules at the specific location. These details can help explain why two vehicles may have entered the same space at the same time.
Road conditions and visibility at the time are also reviewed, because weather, lighting, and nearby obstructions can influence how drivers react in busy intersections.
Witness accounts and physical evidence, such as vehicle positioning and damage patterns, are also used to reconstruct the sequence of events.
