Conway, SC (May 9, 2026) – Two people suffered critical injuries following a boat crash on Friday evening, May 8, on the Waccamaw River near Jackson Bluff Road, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.

Emergency units responded around 5:30 p.m. after reports of a boating incident in the river area. Crews arrived to find multiple people involved, with two victims transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Officials said three additional individuals were treated at the scene for their injuries. Assistance at the location was provided by the Conway Fire Department and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.
