Columbus, OH (June 29, 2026) – Two people were killed, and a bus driver was injured in a crash involving a COTA bus early on Saturday morning at the intersection of Sunbury Road and Mock Road in northeast Columbus. Crews reached the area to assist around 12:30 a.m. on June 27, after receiving reports of the collision.
According to police, the COTA bus was traveling eastbound on Mock Road and was turning left onto Sunbury Road with a green light. At the same time, a black Audi Q5 traveling southbound on Sunbury Road entered the intersection and collided with the bus. The driver and front-seat passenger of the Audi were pronounced dead at the scene.
The bus driver was transported to Grant Medical Center in stable condition. The only passenger on the bus was treated at the scene and did not require transport. Still, authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
