What Factors Can Lead to Single-Vehicle Rollover Crashes?
Rollover crashes can occur when a vehicle leaves the roadway and loses stability. This may happen if a driver becomes fatigued or distracted, causing the vehicle to drift off course.
Vehicle type can also influence how a rollover develops. Larger vehicles with higher centers of gravity, such as sport utility vehicles, may be more likely to tip during sudden movements or when traveling on uneven ground.
Road conditions and speed can affect the severity of these crashes. When a vehicle rolls, occupants may become trapped, and injuries can be more serious due to the force and movement inside the vehicle.
