What Factors Are Considered in Pedestrian Crashes Near Residential Areas?
Residential roads can involve a mix of local traffic and pedestrian activity, especially near homes. People may cross streets at various points, not always at marked crossings, which can increase the risk of incidents.
Visibility and timing often affect these crashes. Drivers may not expect someone to enter the roadway suddenly, while pedestrians may misjudge the speed or distance of approaching vehicles.
Road design and surroundings can also influence safety. Areas without sidewalks or clear crossing points may lead pedestrians to share space with vehicles, increasing the chance of collisions.
