What Factors Are Often Reviewed in Bicycle-Related Crashes on City Roads?
Bicycle-related crashes on city streets are often examined by examining how both the rider and the driver were positioned before impact. Visibility can be a key factor, especially at night or in poorly lit areas, where it may be harder to see someone in the roadway.
Road conditions are also considered, including lane width and the presence of designated bike lanes. In areas without clear space for cyclists, people may end up sharing lanes with vehicles, increasing the risk.
Vehicle movement and point of impact can provide further detail. Damage patterns on both the bicycle and the vehicle may help show how the crash occurred and whether the cyclist was moving or stationary at the time.
