ATV Rollovers Can Lead to Severe Injuries in Rural Areas
All-terrain vehicles are designed for off-road use, but they can become unstable on uneven ground or steep slopes. When an ATV leaves the roadway or trail, the risk of a rollover increases, especially at higher speeds or when carrying multiple passengers.
Rollovers can result in occupants being thrown from the vehicle or trapped underneath it. This can lead to serious injuries, particularly when trees or other obstacles are involved. Remote locations may also delay access to emergency care, making response time a key factor.
Passenger capacity and weight distribution can also affect how an ATV handles. Carrying more people than intended can reduce stability and increase the chance of losing control, especially on narrow or sloped paths.
